I have returned to my Grand Fanfare, reformatting it for publication by Southern Music, and making a few minor improvements in the process.

Thanks to Californian band director, Mike Doty, it seems an interview he made with me recently will appear in an issue of The Instrumentalist, perhaps next month.

I am sure I am not alone among the artistic contributors to the Sydney Olympics in feeling intensely saddened that our tiny part in presenting Australia as a friendly, welcoming nation has been ruined in recent months. I shall be voting Green or Democrats in the coming election, not that it will make any difference in the arch-conservative seat of Bradfield. I do not think I have felt so depressed about Australian politics since 1975! !
