I am off to Brisbane this month to conduct Turn Of The Screw for Opera Queensland. The season finishes at the end of July.
I have managed to gain a commission for a new wind band work: “Two Romantic Tributes”. The movements are 1. Tchaikovsky 2. Rodgers, and features a solo alto saxophone. It is not difficult (about Level 3), and should be as popular as my other works of this kind. More on this later.
Another bigger commission seems to have fallen through, which is a disappointment, but I hope to use the material in another work where I may have more success.
