Each week this month brings a conducting engagement of one sort or another. First one is in Adelaide with the Adelaide Symphony, a pilot video recording for some sort of computer "classical music" programme; then Brisbane with the Queensland Symphony, completing the viola concertos recording begun last year; then a film music CD with the Sydney Symphony for Foxtel. Finally on the 24th I am taking the first two rehearsals for Edo De Waart's Wagner/Mahler concert programme at the end of the week. Presumably to show him how they should go.

This is a distressing time with our crazy world and the thugs and loonies who run it. I see that our own Ministry Of Fear is sending us a "terrorist kit" soon. Our family will be joining the march against war on the weekend of February 15-16, and I urge anyone who reads this to do the same.
