The Hobart recording with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra went extremely well, especially my "String Songs", which will be something of a benchmark performance. Another project for ABC Classics was completed at the end of the month, with the final track for the Jane Sheldon CD recorded successfully.

I have finished engraving the master score and parts of "Promenade" for wind band. I hope it will be available before the end of the year from Southern Music. Southern are about to rerelease two brass quintets of mine - "Three Folksongs" and "Day In The Life Of Jim Dempsey". Also they are bringing out a brass and percussion version of "Olympic Fireworks" which was commissioned and first performed by the Australian Youth Orchestra earlier this year.

Current composition work is on my Australian Suite for wind band, which contains revised versions of other Sydney Olympics music and music written for the New Year Fireworks at the beginning of 2001. I felt all of this music should have another "life" and am finally putting into shape! I think the title of the work will be "Australian Fantasia", but this is not yet decided.
